Inward and outward electronic payments (sometimes referred to as telegraphic transfers) are a safe, convenient and cost-effective way of transferring money. You can use them for travel, gifts or payments into and out of Lesotho. Electronic payments are safe as the money is transferred directly between banks.

You can also use drafts but they are not as safe as inward and outward electronic payments as they can be stolen in the post and you will only be able to stop them subject to conditions.

If you receive a cheque from someone in another country (known as a clean bill of exchange) you can deposit it directly into your account at the current exchange rate. We will tell you of any conditions when you come in to deposit such a cheque.
